About the role

The Department of Information Systems at Rhodes University seeks an experienced academic to join as an Associate Professor. The role combines teaching, research leadership, and university governance within the Faculty of Commerce.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Information Systems and related subjects.
• Supervise Master’s and PhD research projects and develop a strong research group.
• Contribute to departmental, faculty and university committees and strategic initiatives.
• Provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and community engagement.

Required profile

• PhD in Information Systems or a closely related discipline.
• Extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Proven record of supervising Master’s and PhD theses.
• Established national research profile with a growing international reputation.
• Demonstrated experience in academic administration, management or leadership.
