About the role

Benita Ardenbaum Attorneys is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its family law practice in Durban. The role involves providing expert legal guidance, representing clients in court, and supporting individuals through emotionally charged family matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct in‑depth legal research to support case strategy and decision‑making.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations.
• Monitor legal developments and advise on their impact.
• Perform legal risk assessments and ensure compliance.
• Mentor and support junior legal staff.
• Maintain accurate legal records and documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm on various matters.

Required profile

• LLB degree with 3–5 years post‑admission experience.
• Proven experience in family law or commercial law within a legal practice.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• In‑depth understanding of relevant laws and regulatory frameworks.
