Administration Controller

About the role

Takealot.com, South Africa’s leading online retailer, is seeking an Administration Controller to join its Cape Town team. The role supports the Distribution Centre (DC) finance and administration functions, ensuring accurate financial processing, procurement, and office operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee DC operational manning requirements and collaborate with finance to track and manage expenses.
• Capture all invoices (consumables, stationery, uniform, labour, ad‑hoc) and reconcile purchase orders and monthly accruals.
• Communicate with the finance team on supplier remittances, urgent payments and non‑payments.
• Source new suppliers, obtain quotes, and ensure monthly supplier statements are cleared.
• Assist with the annual budget process, month‑end reporting and preparation of financial forecasts.
• Oversee temp labour and office support, including time‑and‑attendance records, staff changes, timesheets and payroll submissions.
• Apply 5S principles to keep the office environment clean, safe and well‑organized.
• Manage office access control, uniform ordering and PPE quality control.
• Handle procurement and vendor management, monitor packaging inventory, and compile performance scorecards for suppliers.
• Create purchase orders and ensure timely payments to suppliers.
• Support month‑end financial reporting by analysing general ledger accounts and posting journals.

• Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
