Accounts Assistant – Manufacturing (South Africa)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accounts Assistant to join the Finance Department of Elyon Lubricants, a growing lubricants manufacturer and distributor in Southern Africa. The role will support daily financial operations and help strengthen internal controls across our South African operations.

Key responsibilities

• Capture daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses)
• Process customer invoices and maintain accurate customer ledgers
• Capture and reconcile supplier invoices
• Perform daily cash counts and prepare cash reports
• Assist with bank and petty cash reconciliations
• Support stock‑related financial entries and documentation
• Prepare weekly and monthly finance summaries
• Maintain accurate filing and financial records
• Support internal controls and audit requirements

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2–4 years of experience in an accounting or finance support role
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution is advantageous
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong integrity and confidentiality

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with accounting systems such as Sage, Odoo, QuickBooks, or similar
