Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper – Randfontein (Johannesburg)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper to oversee the full bookkeeping and accounting function for two company branches, including a Randfontein site. The role involves managing the general ledger, inventory accounting, and statutory compliance while providing accurate financial information to management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full bookkeeping up to trial balance and preparation of financial statements for both branches.
• Reconcile the General Ledger, inventory stock, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Process bank reconciliations, cashbook entries, and VAT submissions.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Produce financial reports and analysis for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping or related field (advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience managing accounts for multiple branches.
• Proven ability to handle full bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance.
• Experience with inventory management and statutory compliance.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of SAP Business One.
• Working knowledge of Sage accounting software.
