Software Developer II – BPM & Microservices

About the role

The Software Developer II will translate detailed technical designs into high‑quality, scalable software solutions. The role focuses on building and maintaining BPMN/DMN workflow automation using Camunda or IBM BPM/BAW, while also mentoring junior developers and contributing to architectural decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement BPMN/DMN workflows with Camunda (7/8) or IBM BPM/BAW.
• Build and maintain Java (11+) microservices using Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and event‑driven systems.
• Configure and deploy process applications via Camunda Modeler or IBM BPM tools.
• Develop external task workers and manage incidents in workflow engines.
• Integrate workflows with custom front‑end UIs and enterprise systems.
• Implement event streaming solutions using Kafka or Confluent.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git.
• Conduct functional and performance testing of solutions.
• Analyse business processes to identify automation opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and code reviews to junior developers.
• Support production deployments and troubleshoot issues.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior developers.
• Proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and automation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in design and architecture discussions.

Required skills

• Camunda 7/8, Camunda Modeler, BPMN 2.0, DMN.
• IBM BPM / Business Automation Workflow (BAW).
• Java 11+, Spring Boot.
• REST APIs, JSON.
• Kafka / Confluent event streaming.
• Git version control.
• Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines (preferred).
