Service Technician – Water & Wastewater Treatment

About the role

SOLEVO is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join the technical team at the Mercedes Benz SA plant in the Eastern Cape. The role focuses on operating, monitoring, and analysing the plant’s water and wastewater treatment systems to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment equipment according to plant operating plans.
• Conduct daily process water analyses and verify water quality against plant and regulatory standards.
• Adjust process parameters as directed to maintain treatment efficiency.
• Report equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and safety hazards promptly to supervisors and maintenance teams.
• Maintain accurate daily operational logs, laboratory results, and process reports.
• Keep records of water quality results, chemical usage, and equipment performance for audits.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following 5S housekeeping practices.
• Adhere to safety policies, use personal protective equipment, and keep Safety Data Sheets up to date.
• Participate in process meetings and communicate updates to the team.

Required profile

• Experience in operating water or wastewater treatment systems.
• Ability to perform routine water quality testing and interpret results.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Good documentation skills and ability to work in a team environment.
