Maintenance Assistant

About the role

PepsiCo is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support its plant maintenance team. The role involves assisting with routine inspections, troubleshooting equipment, performing minor repairs, and responding to internal client requests to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily operations by reporting and helping resolve equipment breakdowns.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping standards in the storeroom.
• Promote safety compliance and help make the plant safer for operators.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, regularly inspecting tools and equipment.
• Manage inventory through stock‑taking and ensure parts are available.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers to address maintenance issues.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in a plant maintenance environment.
• Matric qualification.
• Knowledge of mechanical components, parts, and basic engineering principles.
• Good administrative abilities are advantageous.
• Flexibility to work shifts as needed.
