Junior Computer Engineer (Development & Projects)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Computer Engineer to join our Energy (Oil & Gas) terminal automation team in South Africa. You will work on software development and project implementation, supporting the delivery of reliable automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement software solutions for terminal automation.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Assist in project planning, monitor progress and help meet milestone deadlines.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues, proposing effective fixes.
• Take part in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Support software systems and assist with project implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C# programming.
• Experience with JavaScript.
• Familiarity with MS SQL Server and T‑SQL queries.
