Field Service Technician – Expat

About the role

Normet is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join its Africa service team in Johannesburg. The role involves delivering service, repairs, commissioning and technical training for underground mining equipment across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site service, repairs and commissioning of Normet mining machines.
• Provide technical training and facilitation for customers on equipment operation.
• Support aftermarket service activities and contribute to product improvements in collaboration with the Finnish technical support team.
• Work independently and coordinate with the service, production and sales departments.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience with underground mining machinery.
• Hands‑on experience with hydraulics, automotive electrical and control systems.
• Relevant training certification (e.g., facilitator, assessor or moderator) is preferred.
• Experience in underground concrete spraying is an advantage.
