Earthworks Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join Lycopodium Africa’s construction team on mineral processing plant projects. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will lead the Earthworks and Civils crews, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery across EPCM contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and allocate resources to maximise productivity of the Earthworks team.
• Monitor contractor progress against the contract schedule and report any issues that could impact project milestones.
• Ensure all work complies with client, regulatory and company standards, including HSE policies.
• Conduct regular site inspections, publish findings and enforce safety procedures.
• Provide weekly updates to the Construction Manager and maintain professional communication with clients, vendors and other stakeholders.
• Govern the Earthworks team to adhere to company and client policies, procedures and guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in civil works for mineral processing or related industries, preferably on international EPCM projects.
• Strong technical aptitude with solid analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and thorough knowledge of HSE policies and procedures.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to multitask and prioritise effectively.
