Audio Visual (AV) Technician - IT Support Specialist

About the Position

Join the Department of Information Technology Services at a prestigious university and play a critical role in enhancing the academic experience. As an Audio Visual Technician, you will ensure the seamless integration and functionality of multimedia technologies for lectures, high-profile conferences, and university events.

Main Missions

• Provide comprehensive AV support to faculty members, ensuring equipment availability and setup for all scheduled classes and events.
• Perform proactive maintenance and troubleshooting of AV and electronic hardware to ensure optimal classroom functionality.
• Deliver high-quality second-line technical support, diagnosing and resolving complex AV issues both in-person and via telephone.
• Manage hardware lifecycle, including the repair/replacement of cables, projectors, and other essential equipment.
• Collaborate with event teams to manage full-scale installations, real-time operation, and after-hours technical support for major university functions.
• Conduct regular asset audits and maintain podium computer systems and enterprise Wi-Fi configurations.

Profile Required

• Proven experience in AV technical support or IT field services.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support scheduled events.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to technical diagnostics.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to provide professional assistance to academic staff and event organizers.
• Reliability and precision in managing high-value technical assets.
