Trainee Accountant - Junior Accounting Internship

Main responsibilities

• Perform core accounting tasks including bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and investment portfolio reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports in compliance with client deadlines.
• Support the production of annual statutory financial statements and investor reports.
• Handle routine audit queries and maintain accurate records using Yardi and NavOne.
• Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of direct and indirect tax returns (VAT, CIS) and liaise with HMRC where required.
• Manage task lists effectively, ensuring all deadlines are met under professional supervision.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the group's internal procedures and ethical standards.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate progress clearly to supervisors.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and respect strict deadlines.
• Proactive attitude towards professional development and learning.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (worksheets and data management).
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Familiarity with accounting software (knowledge of Yardi or NavOne is a plus).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of tax compliance (VAT/CIS) is an advantage.
