Systems Administrator

About the role

Our client, a South‑African IT services provider, is seeking a Systems Administrator to join their team in Malelane. The role involves maintaining the stability, security and performance of Windows and Linux environments while supporting end‑users and collaborating with other IT specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain operating systems, software and hardware components.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal reliability.
• Implement security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and access rights.
• Perform routine backups and execute disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams to plan and implement system upgrades and enhancements.
• Provide technical support and assistance to end‑users as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat RHCSA, VMware VCP).
• Own reliable transport.
