Senior Tax Consultant – Immigration

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Tax Consultant specializing in Immigration to join its GMS Business Unit in Johannesburg. The role involves providing proactive immigration support to KPMG South Africa clients, ensuring compliance with South African visa regulations and delivering high‑quality advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Collate, prepare and submit visa applications to the Department of Home Affairs on behalf of clients.
• Prepare responses and maintain regular liaison with the Department regarding lodged applications.
• Produce accurate work that meets high technical standards and interpret relevant legislation.
• Stay updated on changes to immigration law and advise clients accordingly.
• Identify issues, provide guidance and suggest practical solutions.
• Build credibility through effective communication with colleagues and clients.
• Prioritise workload to meet deadlines and adapt to changing client demands.
• Coordinate with other KPMG offices and regional immigration partners across Africa.
• Develop client relationships and expand service offerings regionally.

Required profile

• Proven experience in immigration tax consulting or a related advisory role.
• Strong knowledge of South African immigration legislation.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
