Senior Estimator – Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Senior Estimator to join Morgan Sindall’s pre‑construction team on the Scottish Power CNM3 Project. You will support bid and pre‑construction teams in preparing competitive tenders for design‑and‑build schemes, both new build and refurbishment, and help shape innovative, value‑led solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the bid team to deliver high‑quality submissions on time.
• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates and cost plans following company standards.
• Produce robust net estimates using market intelligence, benchmarks and risk analysis.
• Obtain and evaluate supply‑chain quotations, staying aware of market conditions.
• Identify, assess and report risks, opportunities and scope changes throughout the tender process.
• Review tender documentation, extract key requirements and communicate findings.
• Contribute to tender strategy development and monitoring.
• Maintain full working knowledge of estimating software and ensure system updates.
• Engage with customers, suppliers and internal teams to drive innovation and optimal solutions.
• Participate in post‑tender negotiations and adjudication processes as required.

Required profile

• Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Proven experience in preparing estimates for design‑and‑build construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction procurement, risk registers and health & safety regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with planners, design managers and pre‑construction managers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with estimating software.
