Remote Tax Consultant – South Africa

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Tax Consultant to join our fully remote team. You will provide comprehensive tax compliance, planning and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of individual and corporate clients across South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, corporate and trust tax returns using SARS eFiling.
• Provide tax planning advice to minimise client liability within legal frameworks.
• Manage VAT, PAYE and provisional tax submissions and perform reconciliations.
• Handle SARS correspondence, queries and dispute resolution.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in South African tax legislation and communicate impacts to clients.
• Conduct tax risk assessments and due‑diligence for business transactions.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all tax engagements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in tax consulting or compliance.
• Strong knowledge of the South African Income Tax Act, VAT Act and Tax Administration Act.
• Experience with SARS eFiling and tax preparation software.
• Relevant qualification such as CA(SA), HDip Tax or B.Com (Tax); Registered Tax Practitioner is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple client portfolios independently.
