PostgreSQL Developer – Architect Level

About the role

Zensar is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Developer to lead the design and implementation of high‑volume, high‑availability database solutions. This senior position will work across multiple industry domains, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure data platforms for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own PostgreSQL architecture for mission‑critical systems.
• Develop, tune, and maintain complex SQL, PL/pgSQL functions, triggers, and queries.
• Perform advanced performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Implement and manage HA/DR solutions, including replication, failover, backups, and point‑in‑time recovery.
• Lead migrations from Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Ensure security, access control, compliance, and data governance.
• Support cloud‑hosted PostgreSQL on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, including architect‑level design.
• Proven track record delivering high‑availability, high‑performance database solutions.
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and performance tuning.
• Advanced SQL and PL/pgSQL programming.
• Replication, backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery expertise.
• Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience with cloud‑managed PostgreSQL services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
