About the role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Practitioner to support a sustainable, healthy workforce in an agricultural environment. The role combines occupational health monitoring, primary health care delivery, and clinic management to ensure employee wellbeing and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor employee health, implement remedial actions and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation.
- Identify and control occupational and environmental hazards through continuous assessment.
- Manage work‑related injuries, illnesses, rehabilitation, reintegration and compensation processes.
- Provide employee training and education on health and safety risks.
- Deliver primary health care services including diagnosis, treatment, family planning, vaccination, chronic condition monitoring and emergency medical support.
- Advise line management on health and wellbeing, develop health policies, maintain stakeholder relationships and ensure accurate reporting.
- Oversee clinic budgeting, data collection, benchmarking, analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- National Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
- Diploma in Occupational Health.
- Registered Audiometrist and Certificate in Spirometry.
- Dispensing Certificate.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and the South African Society for Occupational Health Nurses (SASOHN).
- Code EB manual driver’s licence.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in occupational health.
- HCT training and HIV Management course.
