Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Accounting

About the role

The University of Pretoria invites applications for a full‑time academic position in the Department of Accounting. The successful candidate will join a vibrant faculty committed to teaching excellence, research impact, and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate lectures in Accounting.
• Manage academic administration and departmental duties.
• Supervise postgraduate research projects and theses.
• Conduct scholarly research and publish in accredited academic journals.

Required profile

• For Lecturer: CA(SA) qualification or a Master’s degree in Accounting with a research component, plus demonstrated teaching potential or relevant industry experience.
• For Senior Lecturer: Registration with a relevant professional body and a Master’s degree (or a Doctorate) in Accounting, at least three years of tertiary teaching or comparable industry experience, two accredited publications, supervision of at least two Master’s students (or involvement with PhD supervision), and evidence of professional engagement.
