IT Internal Auditor

About the role

Our client, a leading retailer and manufacturer, is seeking an IT Internal Auditor to strengthen its recently established audit function. The role involves planning, executing and reporting on IT audits, ensuring critical controls are evaluated and remediated.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct end‑to‑end IT audits in line with the approved audit plan, from planning through fieldwork to reporting.
• Perform follow‑up reviews to verify that audit findings are closed and remediation is completed on schedule.
• Maintain and expand the digital auditing tool ALICE, including data connector installation, risk acceptance validation, metrics updates and query resolution.
• Develop and enhance the library of IT audit reviews (ITGC, application controls, technical reviews) with standard methodology, sampling approaches and templates.
• Collaborate with IT management, the ALICE team and specialist auditors to improve continuous auditing using Alteryx, SQL and Microsoft Power Platform tools.
• Provide input for the IT internal audit scope and present audit plan coverage to the audit committee.
• Stay current on relevant regulations, best practices and emerging audit techniques.

Required profile

• BCom/BSc degree with a specialization in Information Technology (mandatory).
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification (mandatory).
• 3–4 years of proven experience as an IT Auditor, preferably with exposure to IT governance and security.
• Additional certifications such as CIA, A+, Network+ or Security+ are advantageous.
• Experience in a Big 4 IT audit environment is a plus.
