Inventory Clerk

About the role

The Inventory Clerk will maintain stock integrity within the warehouse, reconcile discrepancies and support the smooth transition of goods between principals and DHL. The role focuses on accurate stock control, quality monitoring and continuous improvement of the physical inventory process.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily, weekly and monthly short picks and short ships and take corrective action.
• Manage block stock (quality/frozen) and reconcile stock write‑offs across all locations.
• Investigate daily stock discrepancies, adjust records according to authority levels and maintain stock integrity.
• Perform monthly client stock age analysis and report in the agreed format.
• Identify and resolve stock quality issues such as packing, expiry dates or pack set‑up, reporting to the client.
• Set up and maintain pack put‑away preferences and system storage locations for optimal placement and efficiency.
• Check and reconcile all receipts against tally sheets and receiving documents.
• Report issues to supervisors, controllers and managers and consistently meet KPIs for productivity, accuracy and housekeeping.
• Participate in stock‑take planning, preparation and physical count.
• Adhere to health & safety, SHERQ rules and wear the company uniform appropriately.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain stock integrity and follow detailed procedures.
• Strong attention to detail when investigating discrepancies and reconciling records.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding stock quality issues.
• Commitment to health, safety and uniform standards in a warehouse environment.
