Intermediate Lighting BIM Specialist

About the Role

Join Smith Tait, a premier global lighting design consultancy, as an Intermediate Lighting BIM Specialist. Based in Cape Town, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-end international projects, working in close coordination with our expert design team in Dubai.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality BIM models for lighting design across various project stages (SD, DD, TD, and IFC).
• Coordinate lighting models seamlessly with Architecture, Interior Design, and MEP disciplines.
• Perform rigorous clash detection and conflict resolution to ensure design integrity.
• Conduct quality control checks on all BIM deliverables to meet international standards.
• Support the production of comprehensive project documentation and technical drawings.

Candidate Profile

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience specifically within a BIM environment.
• Educational background in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, international setting.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to technical excellence.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit and Navisworks.
• Expertise in BIM coordination and clash detection processes.
• Strong understanding of lighting design integration within MEP and Architectural workflows.
• Ability to manage documentation through all project phases (SD to IFC).
