Foundation Phase Teacher

About the role

ADvTECH is seeking a passionate Foundation Phase Teacher to deliver high‑quality, future‑focused education to young learners. The role involves creating engaging learning experiences that develop reading, literacy, numeracy and other essential skills while fostering a supportive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum-aligned instruction for foundation phase students, focusing on reading, literacy, numeracy and holistic development.
• Assess student progress, compile academic reports and provide constructive feedback.
• Manage student behaviour and ensure a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Serve as a brand ambassador, supporting school administration, health‑and‑safety duties and community engagement.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians and colleagues to build constructive partnerships.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree (NQF level 6) in Early Childhood Development or B.Ed (Foundation Phase); PGCE required if degree is in Psychology.
• 2‑5 years of teaching experience in the foundation phase.
• SACE certification and a valid police clearance.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Computer and digital literacy.
• First Aid certification.
