Footwear Developer & Quality Controller

About the role

Our client in Midrand is seeking an experienced Footwear Developer & Quality Controller to lead the development, approval, and quality assurance of footwear and accessories across multiple brands. You will ensure products meet brand standards, quality expectations, and production timelines while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop seasonal footwear and accessory ranges aligned with brand strategy and market trends.
• Manage product development from concept through sampling to final production approval.
• Approve colourways, materials, trims, branding applications, packaging, and product specifications.
• Conduct trend analysis, competitor research, and market reviews to drive innovation.
• Utilise AI image generation and editing tools to create realistic product visualisations and presentation materials.
• Collaborate with suppliers to communicate specifications and quality expectations.
• Perform Pre‑Production, Pre‑Bulk, and Bulk Quality Assurance inspections.

Required profile

• Proven experience in footwear development, merchandising, or quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of footwear construction, materials, manufacturing processes, and fit requirements.
• Excellent organisational, planning and administrative abilities.
• Effective communication and supplier‑management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
