Customer Liaison Officer

About the role

We are seeking a professional, client‑focused Customer Liaison Officer to manage the branch reception and guide client flow. The role involves greeting customers, identifying their needs, and directing them to the appropriate banker or service area while maintaining a positive branch environment.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome clients, record their information accurately and refer them to the correct department.
• Monitor the reception area and banking hall, intervene with dissatisfied clients and ensure a professional experience.
• Handle client service requests such as card collections, PIN issues, EAP limits, beneficiaries and general enquiries.
• Identify migration and cross‑sell opportunities and log leads in the presence of the client.
• Maintain accurate history notes, service requests and client database updates.
• Uphold branch presentation standards, promotional displays and security document handovers according to procedures.

Required profile

• National Certificate or equivalent NQF 5 qualification in banking, financial services, administration or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in branch banking, client service or a customer‑facing environment.
• Proven ability to work with client information, service requests and system updates while adhering to risk, compliance and confidentiality standards.
• Strong behavioural competencies such as documenting facts, following procedures, interacting with people and managing tasks.
