Corporate Tax Specialist (6-Month Contract)

About the Role

Join a leading player in the Oil & Gas sector for a strategic 6-month maternity cover assignment. As a Corporate Tax Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring fiscal compliance and providing high-level tax advisory to support complex business models and operational projects.

Main Missions

• Ensure continuous compliance with Botswana income tax laws and all associated regulatory requirements.
• Provide accurate and timely tax services to various operational units to support their business models and ongoing projects.
• Monitor legislative changes and proactively recommend updates to internal procedures and tax strategies.
• Analyze tax implications for business decisions and provide expert guidance to stakeholders.
• Maintain rigorous documentation and reporting standards in line with corporate governance.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified CA(SA) or BCom with a postgraduate degree/higher diploma in Taxation.
• 1 to 3 years of professional experience in a corporate environment (Petrochemical, Manufacturing, or similar industries preferred).
• Proven expertise in direct taxation and corporate tax compliance.
• Strong analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
• Hands-on experience with SAP ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills for complex financial modeling and data analysis.
• Deep understanding of Botswana tax legislation and direct tax principles.
• Strong ability to interpret complex legal and financial documentation.
