Area Supervisor – Technical Services (Polokwane)

About the role

The Area Supervisor will lead a team of technicians responsible for the installation, maintenance and technical support of electronic systems on the Polokwane mine. The role ensures compliance with safety, quality and contractual standards while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise technical installation, testing, certification and repair of electronic products and systems.
• Perform quality checks and troubleshoot equipment to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Manage stock ordering, inventory and maintenance of electronic hardware and software, coordinating repairs with head office when needed.
• Control technical staff rosters, arrange replacements for absences and monitor cost control.
• Operate hand tools and small power tools for new projects and ensure housekeeping standards.
• Liaise with customers and site personnel to guarantee safety, quality and contractual compliance.
• Prepare and submit required documentation, reports and paperwork for the mine and technical coordinator.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, risk assessments and maintain valid medical inductions.

Required profile

• N6 electronics or trade test and a Management Diploma.
• 6‑8 years experience as a technician in electronics (hardware & software) and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• 3‑5 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Knowledge of company products, Labour Relations Act, training and supervisory techniques, and company policies.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
