AI Software Developer – Johannesburg & Cape Town

About the role

The AI Software Developer will design, build and maintain AI‑driven software applications for our Johannesburg and Cape Town offices. You will work closely with product managers and data scientists to translate business needs into scalable AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain AI development and production infrastructure, including data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Deploy AI models to production, create APIs for model access, and automate infrastructure for the Data Science team.
• Develop AI models from scratch, optimise classifiers, build MVPs and automated anomaly‑detection systems.
• Process, cleanse and verify data, enhance data collection, and perform data mining using advanced methods.
• Support product managers by translating model results into actionable insights, creating visualisations and interactive reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 + years of professional experience in software development and AI/ML implementation.
• Experience in engineering or geospatial domains is preferred.
• Strong foundation in object‑oriented programming and proven ability to deliver AI solutions.
