Accounts Payable Coordinator

About the role

The Accounts Payable Coordinator will join the BMU Finance and Accounting team, handling supplier invoices for multiple business units. The role ensures accurate, timely processing of invoices, supports cross‑border payments and maintains strong financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices, ensuring proper authorization and allocation to supplier accounts and GL codes.
• Execute daily AP postings, run payments according to agreed terms and distribute remittance advice.
• Maintain audit‑compliant filing and reconcile supplier statements and GL accounts monthly.
• Handle foreign‑currency invoices, apply correct exchange rates and support cross‑border supplier payments.
• Proactively resolve supplier queries, identify discrepancies and liaise with restaurant operations and regional finance teams.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent; a degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• 3‑5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in a high‑volume, multi‑branch retail or QSR environment.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, general accounting principles and Zambia tax/VAT requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting systems (experience with JDE is an asset).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to manage multi‑currency transactions and basic foreign‑exchange concepts.
