Supply Chain Facilities Administrator

About the role

The Supply Chain Facilities Administrator supports daily site operations involving road, rail, shipping and storage of hazardous chemicals at Sasol’s Durban facility. The role ensures that bulk loading, container packing, pipeline transfers and related documentation are executed safely, accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate hazardous chemical bulk loading, road transport, drumming, container and flexitainer packing, and pipeline transfers.
• Generate and manage all related SAP documents, including purchase requisitions and shipment cost entries.
• Maintain up‑to‑date NAVIS information with Transnet for container placement and vessel stacking.
• Book and oversee inspections, ensuring compliance before containers are stacked.
• Apply FIFO principles for drum handling and monitor waste (slop) drums according to SOPs.
• Participate in monthly stock takes and report results to management.
• Work standby and outside regular office hours as required.
• Log incidents, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure accurate export documentation and timely placement of empty and loaded containers.

Required profile

• Experience with hazardous chemical logistics and bulk shipping operations.
• Strong knowledge of SAP for documentation and cost tracking.
• Familiarity with NAVIS and coordination with Transnet.
• Ability to work flexible hours and handle standby duties.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
