Studio Lead / Senior Interior Designer – Johannesburg

About the role

We are seeking a Studio Lead / Senior Interior Designer to drive high‑quality commercial interior projects for a growing design studio in the north of Johannesburg. The role combines creative concept development, project leadership and mentorship of junior designers, ensuring the design vision is maintained from brief to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Take creative ownership of interior design projects from brief through to completion.
• Develop distinctive, commercially viable design concepts and present them to clients.
• Coordinate with technical teams to ensure accurate documentation and construction feasibility.
• Mentor junior and intermediate designers and guide studio processes.
• Manage multiple projects, budgets and timelines while maintaining design quality.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional interior design experience with a strong commercial portfolio.
• Proven ability to manage projects through concept, development and delivery stages.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle for site visits.
