Strategic Procurement & Inventory Manager

About the role

Are you an experienced procurement and supply‑chain professional who can balance stock availability, working capital and commercial growth? Our client is seeking a Strategic Procurement & Inventory Manager to own national procurement, demand planning and inventory optimisation across a multi‑branch business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute national purchasing strategies for key categories such as steel coils, insulation and fasteners, consolidating buying power across branches and factories.
• Negotiate and manage supplier agreements, pricing structures and service‑level agreements while monitoring performance on price, quality and delivery.
• Build forecasting and demand‑planning models using historical data and market trends, set minimum and maximum stock levels, and analyse inventory ageing to improve stock turns.
• Manage importation of raw materials, monitor global pricing, exchange‑rate movements and tariffs, and coordinate with freight forwarders and customs agents.
• Collaborate with branch stock controllers to standardise inventory practices, coordinate inter‑branch transfers and maintain a centralised supply‑chain strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce or a related analytical discipline.
• 5–8+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, inventory management or demand planning, preferably across multiple sites.
• Exposure to steel, building materials, construction or high‑volume inventory environments.
• Experience working with international suppliers, imports and landed‑cost considerations.

Required skills

• Advanced ERP system proficiency.
• Microsoft Excel – data analysis, modelling and pivot tables.
• Power BI for reporting and analytics.
