Specialist: Ethics & Conduct Risk

About the role

Liberty is seeking a dedicated Specialist to embed a robust culture of integrity and accountability in Johannesburg. The role focuses on ethics and conduct risk, ensuring adherence to internal guidelines and external regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Champion ethical standards across the Standard Bank Group and develop a comprehensive ethics and conduct toolbox.
• Establish and oversee governance frameworks that manage ethics and conduct risk in line with the group’s risk appetite.
• Provide guidance and deliver training on ethics and conduct matters to employees.
• Monitor the effectiveness of controls, identify and mitigate ethical risks, and advise on investigations into breaches.

Required profile

• Academic background in Law, Risk Management or Social Sciences, preferably with postgraduate studies.
• 5–7 years of experience in ethics, risk management or a related field within financial services.
• Familiarity with South African financial services regulatory landscape and industry codes of conduct.
• Proven experience developing and implementing ethics programmes and managing investigations.
• 3–4 years of experience designing and delivering training programmes.
