Site Manager – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The company is a well‑known manufacturing organisation seeking an experienced Site Manager for its Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) facility. You will be responsible for executing the operations strategy, ensuring legal compliance, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead production, logistics, process engineering, project management and quality control functions.
• Maintain and measure the SHERQ management system.
• Develop and implement strategic operational initiatives and manage expansion projects.
• Oversee people development, leadership processes and foster a safety‑first culture.
• Approve five‑year and short‑term budgets, capital expenditures and ensure financial control.
• Maintain site appearance, security and compliance with OHS and environmental legislation.

Required profile

• Relevant business degree, preferably in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years senior management experience in an operational environment.
• Strong adaptability, energetic, goal‑driven with high customer service orientation.
• Proven change leadership, strategic planning and decisive decision‑making.

Required skills

• Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Ability to manage operations at a strategic level.
• Coaching, teamwork and strong communication skills.
