Service Technician – Water & Wastewater (Eastern Cape)

About the role

SOLEVO is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join its technical team at the Mercedes Benz SA plant in the Eastern Cape. The role involves daily operation, monitoring, and analytical testing of water and wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment equipment according to plant operating plans.
• Conduct daily water quality analyses and adjust process parameters to maintain optimal treatment efficiency.
• Report equipment malfunctions, process abnormalities, or deviations to supervisors and maintenance teams immediately.
• Complete and update operational logs, laboratory results, and process reports on schedule.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work and laboratory environments following 5S principles.
• Adhere to safety policies, use PPE correctly, and keep Safety Data Sheets and chemical labels up to date.
• Participate in daily or scheduled process meetings and communicate updates clearly.

Required profile

• Experience operating water and wastewater treatment equipment in an industrial setting.
• Ability to perform laboratory water quality testing and interpret results.
• Strong attention to safety procedures, PPE usage, and SDS compliance.
• Good record‑keeping skills and ability to produce accurate reports.
• Based in the Eastern Cape and able to work onsite.
