Service & Installation Technician – PackMark Division

About the role

Pyrotec is seeking a technically strong, proactive Service and Installation Technician for its PackMark division in Johannesburg. You will own end‑to‑end service projects, handling both hardware installations and, where applicable, software integration with the PackLink platform.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct, manage and supervise installations, repairs and servicing of labelling and coding machinery.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee project installations from start to completion.
• Perform customer site surveys and propose technical solutions.
• Fault‑find, repair and maintain equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Coordinate technicians, apprentices and support staff to meet project timelines.
• Train customers and internal staff on equipment operation and maintenance.

Required profile

• Qualified artisan with a red seal or equivalent trade test.
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification technical experience.
• Project management and supervisory experience (advantageous).
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
