Senior SEO & Web Optimisation Specialist – Hybrid

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong Senior SEO & Web Optimisation Specialist to drive organic growth, improve website performance, and enhance conversion rates across our digital platforms. The role is hybrid, based in Cape Town or Johannesburg, and works closely with development and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute SEO strategies to boost rankings, traffic and visibility.
• Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis and performance reporting.
• Manage on‑page SEO, internal linking and content optimisation.
• Perform technical SEO audits and resolve indexing, crawl, duplicate content and mobile usability issues.
• Improve Core Web Vitals, site speed and overall web performance.
• Maintain XML sitemaps, redirects, canonicals, robots.txt and crawl health.
• Optimise Shopify‑based sites for SEO and conversion.
• Support conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and user‑experience enhancements.
• Collaborate with developers on technical implementations.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• 3‑5 years of experience in technical SEO, eCommerce SEO and web optimisation.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in retail, FMCG, hospitality or eCommerce is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and exposure to UX/UI optimisation.
