Senior Mobile Software Engineer

About the role

Entelect is looking for a Senior Mobile Software Engineer to design and deliver high‑quality mobile applications for leading South African organisations. You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and mentoring junior colleagues while driving innovation through new technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop world‑class mobile apps using Kotlin, Java, Swift and cross‑platform frameworks.
• Participate in the full SDLC – from system design and analysis to estimation and delivery.
• Explore containerisation and CI/CD practices to improve product quality and DevOps efficiency.
• Research and implement emerging technologies to keep projects innovative.
• Champion collaborative culture, mentor teammates and lead change initiatives.
• Build strong customer relationships, manage expectations and ensure compliance with data security regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of software engineering experience in an enterprise environment.
• Proven ability to write clean code, follow best practices and adapt to new frameworks.
• Experience architecting small projects within large organisations.
• Strong communication, collaboration and customer‑facing skills.
• Willingness to work hybrid (2‑3 days in office per week) and across varied tooling environments.
