Senior IT Technician

About the role

An established Managed Services Provider is looking for a hands‑on Senior IT Technician to join its technical team. You will work across multiple client environments, solving complex issues and owning projects from start to finish while delivering top‑notch customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, migrate and upgrade Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) environments.
• Administer Active Directory, including users, groups, OUs, DNS and Group Policy.
• Configure, monitor and test backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and licensing.
• Provide advanced desktop support for Windows workstations.
• Troubleshoot and repair hardware components, including RAM, storage and peripherals.
• Monitor client infrastructures using remote management and monitoring tools.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations and technology refreshes.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and client records.
• Mentor junior technical staff when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on IT support and systems administration experience.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and calm under pressure.
• Valid South African driver’s licence, reliable transport and willingness to travel between client sites.
