Sales Engineer – Industrial Automation

About the role

We are growing our team and are seeking a results‑driven Sales Engineer to join our Industrial Automation team in Pinetown, KZN. This role offers the opportunity to work with leading automation brands to deliver tailored solutions across a diverse industrial client base.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships
• Identify and develop new sales opportunities
• Respond to customer inquiries, including technical queries
• Present technical products and solutions clearly and confidently
• Achieve sales targets and contribute to business growth
• Continuously develop technical knowledge of automation products and applications
• Maintain accurate CRM data and provide market feedback
• Attend networking events and industry trade shows

Required profile

• Engineering/Electrical qualification advantageous
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
• 2–5 years’ experience in technical sales
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation components (PLCs, switchgear, VSDs, safety systems, sensors, vision systems, cabling)
• Proven track record of matching products to client needs and achieving sales targets
• Established network in and around KZN
• Self‑motivated and results‑driven
• Service‑oriented with a customer‑first mindset

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience with NetSuite ERP (advantageous)
