Route Controller – Logistics Operations

About the role

The Route Controller will oversee daily logistics operations for RCL Foods in Bushbuckridge, reporting to the Distribution Manager. This position ensures efficient route planning, driver performance monitoring, and timely resolution of customer queries within the FMCG supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Manage logistics systems on a daily basis and conduct driver‑by‑driver de‑briefs for each route.
• Monitor distribution KPIs, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct quarterly route rides, analyse findings and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate and achieve 100 % attendance for Salesman‑Driver and Van Assistant training sessions.
• Handle customer complaints and queries, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure accurate administrative practices and documentation.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification; a recognised supply‑chain or logistics qualification is preferred.
• Minimum two years of logistics experience, preferably in an FMCG environment.
• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and communicate across all organisational levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
