Registered Nurse – Day Ward

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Day Ward team, providing age‑appropriate patient care in line with South African Nursing Council (SANC) standards. The role involves direct patient interaction, supervision of staff, and adherence to hospital policies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care within the scope defined by SANC.
• Follow all hospital policies, regulations, and stakeholder legislation.
• Lead and supervise ward staff, ensuring high‑quality patient service.
• Attend to patient care needs and respond promptly to complaints.
• Maintain compliance with SANC and related legal requirements.

Required profile

• Registered with SANC as a Registered Nurse with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
• Minimum two years’ experience in a surgical or similar ward setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills with doctors, patients, and colleagues.
• Willingness to work additional hours when required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
