Refrigeration Technician

About the role

We are hiring a Refrigeration Technician to handle repairs and breakdowns within our Services Business Unit. The role involves installation, service and repair of industrial refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems, ensuring reliable operation for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Complete required service reports and communicate them to relevant persons.
• Install, service and repair refrigeration and air‑conditioning equipment, including intercoolers and heat exchangers.
• Communicate field service activities with the Service Technician and coordinate with Service Partners.
• Understand customer requirements and provide the most cost‑effective solution from Rubicon.
• Perform other duties as may be requested from time to time.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with a refrigeration qualification.
• 1–3 years of relevant field experience, including field service work.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work independently in factory environments.
• Works well under pressure, with strong attention to detail.
• Team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues and partners.

Required skills

• Refrigeration systems knowledge.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude.
• Use of electrical meters for diagnostics.
• Understanding of intercoolers and heat exchangers.
• Experience with industrial air‑conditioning equipment.
