Quality Planner – Bulk Material Handling

About the role

Metso is seeking a Quality Planner for bulk material handling projects in Cape Town. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will ensure that products and processes meet high standards of quality, reliability, and performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality control plans that align with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Set timelines for manufacturing to guarantee a seamless flow from raw material acquisition to product dispatch.
• Conduct inspections of processes, products, and materials to identify defects and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Analyse data and performance metrics to uncover trends and root causes of quality problems.
• Maintain documentation, train staff on quality standards, and ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems.
• Review supplier quality documents (QCP, WPS, WQR, NDT procedures) and resolve NCRs and supplier quality issues.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Quality Management.
• Minimum five years of experience in Quality Management Systems and engineering environments.

Required skills

• SAP knowledge and experience, specifically the Quality module.
