About the role
The Department of Health is seeking two Property Care Takers to maintain the grounds and facilities of Sebokeng Regional Hospital. The role involves routine gardening, cleaning, and basic maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for staff and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Dig, weed, and remove unwanted wood in backyards and surrounding areas.
- Mow lawns and trim edges using lawnmowers and trimming machines.
- Apply fertilizers, water plants, and maintain garden health.
- Clean premises by removing litter, emptying refuse containers, and sweeping paved areas.
- Assist with the transfer and delivery of tools and furniture, and perform washing of roads and paved surfaces, especially on wet days.
Required profile
- ABET Level 4 or Grade 10 equivalent qualification (or comparable).
- Gardening experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of garden equipment and tools.
- Punctuality and honesty.
Required skills
- Gardening and plant care.
- Operation of lawnmowers, trimming machines, and other garden equipment.
- Fertilizer application and irrigation.
- Basic cleaning and waste removal.
