Professor or Associate Professor – Accounting

About the role

The Faculty of Management & Commerce at the University of Fort Hare is seeking a senior academic leader to join its Accounting department as a Professor (P5) or Associate Professor (P6). The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, postgraduate supervision, and academic leadership in accounting, taxation, auditing, management accounting, or financial accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide academic thought leadership and develop curriculum for SAICA‑endorsed programmes.
• Deliver high‑quality teaching and supervise postgraduate and doctoral research.
• Lead research initiatives, secure funding, and manage research grants.
• Engage with the community and foster international academic collaborations.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the faculty and university.

Required profile

• Relevant doctoral degree in accounting or a related field.
• Registration with a professional accounting body.
• Minimum 7 years of higher‑education experience for Associate Professor or 9 years for Professor.
• Strong record of accredited research publications.
• Experience supervising postgraduate and doctoral students.
• Proven track record in research fundraising and academic leadership.
