About the role
We are seeking a commercially minded and detail‑oriented Professional Accountant with a completed CIMA qualification or SAIPA Professional Accountant (SA) designation, supported by an appropriate accounting degree. The role is responsible for reliable financial reporting, management accounting, statutory compliance, financial controls, and practical support to operational decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash books, and the general ledger.
- Prepare and post monthly journals, accruals, provisions, and other month‑end adjustments.
- Perform and review bank, supplier, customer, and balance‑sheet reconciliations, resolving items promptly.
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, supporting schedules, and financial reports for management review.
- Analyse financial results, investigate variances, and provide practical insights for business decisions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management, and project or departmental cost monitoring.
- Manage statutory and payroll‑related compliance, including VAT, PAYE, and UIF, and submit VAT returns through SARS eFiling.
- Maintain sound financial controls, complete accounting records, and organise supporting documentation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, or an equivalent recognised degree.
- Completed CIMA qualification or current SAIPA Professional Accountant (SA) designation (mandatory).
- 3–5 years of post‑qualification accounting experience, including month‑end reporting, management accounts, reconciliations and statutory compliance.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Proven experience with accounting and financial‑management systems (Proman experience advantageous).
- Strong knowledge of financial and management accounting principles, month‑end processes and internal controls.
- Practical knowledge of South African tax and statutory requirements (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SARS eFiling).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and financial‑reporting skills with excellent attention to detail.
