Production Supervisor – High‑Volume Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Production Supervisor to lead a high‑volume shop floor in Maitland, Cape Town. The role demands a technically strong leader who can drive output, quality, cost control and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the daily production plan and meet output targets.
• Monitor line performance, remove bottlenecks and drive recovery actions.
• Balance labour and equipment to maximise throughput and report accurate production data.
• Enforce QMS requirements, investigate root causes and reduce rework and scrap.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, report breakdowns and support TPM activities.
• Lead, supervise and develop operators, set performance standards and manage attendance.
• Maintain ERP accuracy, control material flow, WIP and scrap processing.
• Uphold 5S standards, use visual management and drive daily productivity improvements.

Required profile

• Diploma in Operations Management, Production Management, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in high‑volume manufacturing and at least 2 years supervising production teams.
• Proven track record managing production targets, labour and workflow.
• SA citizenship, clean criminal record and residence in Greater Cape Town (or willingness to relocate at own cost).

Required skills

• Press, plating or automated manufacturing environments.
• ERP systems for material and inventory control.
• TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5S lean methodologies.
• Quality Management System (QMS) compliance and root‑cause analysis.
