Procurement Officer - Mining Sector Specialist

About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team in Germiston. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless flow of supplies and services, specifically within the demanding mining industry environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Source and procure specialized equipment, with a strong focus on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain and optimize procurement workflows using specialized systems such as PRONTO.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with occupational health and safety legislation.
• Collaborate with various departments to meet operational requirements and budget constraints.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience of 3 to 4 years in an operational procurement or supply chain environment.
• Strong background in the mining sector and deep knowledge of PPE requirements.
• Educational background: Matric certificate or a Diploma in Procurement/Supply Chain Management.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work effectively within strict health and safety regulatory frameworks.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Intermediate level in Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Hands-on experience with procurement software (e.g., PRONTO).
• In-depth knowledge of procurement principles and supply chain logistics.
• Expertise in mining industry standards and safety compliance.
